It is official, the Barnyard gang had it’s first photography club meeting last Monday night in Rockland. While it’s not for sure we’ll keep the name “Barnyard gang”, the ice is broken. We were all a bit shy at first. Some of the participants had never met each other before. Yet, we all had something in common; we all are passionate about photography and all did not really know what to expect from the meeting. It did not take long though to warm up the atmosphere.
After sorting out some of the logistical details many shared some of their photos drawing admiration from the rest of the group. We were lucky, we had a safari just the day before in Larose Forest so there was a lot to talk about and share. It is always interesting to see how photographers attending the same event always manage to have different views. We also saw amazing shots of snowy owls, castles in Scotland, light houses etc.
We had some good laughs, shared some cupcakes and popcorn to celebrate Nadine’s birthday. Everyone awaited anxiously for their first monthly challenge: green! Can’t wait to see that at the next meeting! For now, here are some of the photos I (Lynne) took at the Mush Larose event on February 23rd.
C’est fait, le club de photographie – la gang du coin- prend forme. Une quinzaine de personnes de la région de Rockland mais quelques uns aussi d’Ottawa ont répondu à l’invitation. Bien que certains n’avaient aucun doute à leur participation future, d’autres étaient un peu plus réservés et curieux.
Bien que le club n’est qu’à ses débuts et que plusieurs choses sont encore à déterminer, plusieurs ont exprimés leur désir d’appartenance et leur besoin de support pour pratiquer leur passion pour la photographie plus régulièrement. Étant tous et toutes très occupées, le groupe offre une place où venir se resourcer mais aussi s’encourager et se motiver mutuellement.
Bien que partager ses photos en groupe peut être fort intimidant au début, il est clair que cet exercise est très bénéfique. En plus des commentaires techniques et artistiques reçus, les participants peuvent apprécier de nouvelles approches, nouvelles techniques, et même découvrir de nouveaux endroits, de nouveaux thèmes à photograhier.
Tout le monde était impatient à recevoir le premier défi mensuel-vert. Et là tous et toutes nous avons hâte à la prochaine rencontre pour voir ce que les autres auront photographié. Cela promet! N’hésitez pas à vous joindre à nous.
Voici quelques photos prises durant la dernière course de chiens dans la forêt Larose. Le dernier jeune chien a particulièrement attiré l’attention de plusieurs photographes.
